The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Mercy Hospital offers an Addiction Medicine Program. Within this program, the UPMC Mercy Hospital operates an 18-bed, medically supervised detoxification (detox) unit. Additionally, admission on to this unit is based on meeting specific medical criteria. The unit s services are only provided to adults. The average length of detoxification is 4.5 days.
